Sirte, 30 June 2009 –  The 21ST Summit of the NEPAD Heads of State and Government Implementation Committee (HSGIC) officially opened this morning Tuesday 30 June 2009, at the Ouagadougou Conference Centre in Sirte, Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

18th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee Discusses Racism and Slavery
Sirte, 25 June 2009 – Members of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) of the African Union (AU) have called on Member States to continue working hard in their efforts to restore Africa’s identity by restoring reparations for the historical damage caused by the slave trade in Africa. They said racism should be considered as a crime against humanity. To that effect, the Ambassadors stressed the need for the continent to work together, so that Africa can fully regain its rights.

EXPERTS CALL ON AFRICAN GOVERNMENTS TO WORK WITH DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS TO COMBAT CAPITAL FLIGHT AND RECOVER EMBEZZLED ASSETS OUTSIDE AFRICA
Cairo 6 June 2009 – African Experts meeting in Cairo, Egypt within the framework of the Second Joint Annual Meetings of the AU Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and ECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development have ended today, Saturday 6 June 2009 a five-day discussion on the theme: "Enhancing the effectiveness of fiscal policy for domestic resource mobilization". The closing ceremony was co-chaired by the Deputy Executive Secretary of ECA Mrs. Lalla Ben Barka, and Dr. Maxwell Mkwezalamba, Commissioner for Economic Affairs of the African Union Commission. EXPERTS DEBATE POLICY OPTIONS FOR BEATING ECONOMIC CRISIS
Cairo, 04 June 2009 – African experts on economic issues held a day-long debate Wednesday 3rd June on policy measures necessary to tackle the current economic crisis.
