Addis Ababa, 1st February 2008 – Gabonese Foreign Affairs Minister, Jean Ping, has been elected as the new Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC). Addis Ababa, 31 January 2008 - The 10th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly of Heads of State and Government kicked off this morning, Thursday 31 January 2008, at the Conference hall of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the chairmanship of the outgoing Chairperson of the African Union and President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor. SIGNING OF AN MOU ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE AFRICAN UNION, CENSAD, ECOWAS AND IGAD
Addis Ababa, 29 January 2008 – The African Union, the Community of Sahelo-Saharan States (CENSAD), the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) and the Inter-governmental authorities for Development (IGAD), yesterday, Monday 28 January 2008, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at reinforcing cooperation ties.
