AU SUMMIT
 THE AFRICA COURT OF HUMAN AND PEOPLES’ RIGHTS HOLDS ITS FIRST MEETING IN BANJUL, THE GAMBIA
Banjul 2 July 2006: The African Court of Human and Peoples’ Rights held its first meeting today. Notably present at the maiden meeting were Madam Julia JOINER, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, the 11 eminent judges recently elected to the Court, the Chairperson of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice and the Chairperson of the African Committee on the Rights and Wellbeing of the Child. more...
