12th Ordinary Summit of the AU Heads of State and Government ends today in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa 4th February 2008 - The 12th Ordinary Summit of the AU Heads of State and Government ended in Addis Ababa on 4 February 2009. The Summit concluded with the`-mmission, Mr. Jean Ping, this morning, 3 February 2009, received in audience the Prime Minister of the Republic of Madagascar, H.E. Charles Rabemananjara and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Madagascar, H.E Marcel Ranjeva. The meeting focused on the developing current socio-political crisis in Madagascar. 12th AU SUMMIT: AFRICAN LEADERS ADRESS GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS

Addis Ababa, 5 February 2009 - African Heads of State and Government, meeting on 3 February 2009 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, within the framework of their 12th Assembly, discussed the global financial crisis and resolved to unite in order to make the voice of Africa heard in the world’s economic arena. “A real voice should be given to Africa in the reform of the international financial institutions aimed at better management of economic shocks and ensuring predictability of resource flows and the effectiveness of aid” they highlighted during their deliberations at the Conference Centre of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). Addis Ababa, 28 January 2009 – The 17th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) ended today Wednesday 28 January 2009 at the headquarters of the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohamed Maunidi, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Addis Ababa. Ambassador Maunidi is also the Chairperson of the PRC.
